Since other programs didn’t suit my taste, I made this simple program, a GUI to the official junction tool.
Capable of creating and removing junctions.
To use it, you’ll also need the official junction.exe in the same folder as where you’ll use the program.
And by the way, this is my first VB program ever. Bug reports and suggestions are welcome as always.
Here is the result of an afternoon of editing and some hours of mastering. I hope you’ll like it.
Introducing junction points!
Junctions in the NTFS file system (which is used by Windows) look like regular folders but they are actually redirections to other folders.
For instance, picture that you have a “Sprays” folders in each your online games. You occasionally download new sprays to use these in your games.
Since these games don’t allow you to specify which folder the sprays are in, you must copy all of your new sprays into every single “Sprays” folder in each game every time you download new images. That is a waste of space and time but there’s no way to get around it… or isn’t there?
Thankfully, you can make the program think the folder’s in for instance “C:\Program Files\Shooter Online\Sprays” while it’s physically in “C:\Documents\Sprays”.
A junction point is basically a link which looks like a folder to the programs but it actually points to another folder. So now if you used these junctions in all of your games you could save yourself time and space.
These points also work flawlessly in the terms of file management so if you’d copy an image to “C:\Program Files\Shooter Online\Sprays” then it would show up in the “Sprays” folder in your documents as well as all the other “Sprays” folders in each game. The same applies to deleting and modifying files. And of course all this happens in the folder which the junctions are linked to (in this case “C:\Documents\Sprays”) and physically there is still only one folder.
So in the end although this feature is quite unknown among most users it can be really handy. If you think you could make use of it you can either use Microsoft’s utility, junction or another program. Personally I use Junction Link Magic which is a simple program good for creating and organizing junctions.

I’ve just released my new batch program called Vanco. It’s a collection of small tools such as a timer and a code generator. The good thing about this program is that it can automatically update itself. This is done the following way: when it detects a new version, it just downloads the correct zip file and extracts it.
Currently the program includes a timer, a code generator and a chat program (which still has some bugs since it uses a new completely different method than my old program).
The unzipping utility which comes with Vanco doesn’t seem to work on x64 machines because it’s 16-bit.
Of course Vanco’s not made for daily use, it’s just kind of a little experiment. Anyway, if you’re interested give it a try. You might witness it updating itself soon
Vanco uses two free utilities, pkunzip.exe and wget.exe, both for updating itself since batch doesn’t support unzipping, nor downloading.
I’ve made a new song in FL studio. Had the tune in my head since last summer, so it was a relief to finally put it into a digital form.
You’ve probably met the so called Metro design on the latest Windows powered smartphones and Windows 8. Well, it’s available for all newer Windows desktops. In case you haven’t already heard of it, there’s a program called Rainmeter which basically puts useful and widely customizable widgets on your desktop. The developers at Omnimo made a nice extension for Rainmeter which lets you put customized Metro UI styled “tiles” on your desktop. So if you’re interested in giving your desktop a bit more function and style, check it out at omnimo.info.
LG haven’t made a 2.3 update for the GT540 yet and it seems like they are not planning it. The latest official version you can get is 2.1, but modders made it possible for you to have an unofficial Android 2.3 on your phone. Some benefits of getting the update are:
- Speed: You can overclock your device up to ~900 MHz
- Apps can be moved to the SD-Card
- The 2.3 UI with cleaner graphics
- Customization of the lock-screen, status bar, UI, etc…
- The latest Google apps are available
You’re a director. You’re not rich. You can’t use fancy effects and hire the best actors, but do you need all that when you have great imagination?

Well I’ve recently seen a movie without any fancy visuals and professional actors. And I enjoyed it a lot. The movie I’m talking about is called Timecrimes and it’s a low-budget Spanish production from 2007. It’s the kind of film best watched without even knowing anything about it, but whatever you do, don’t watch the trailer. It spoils the whole thing. What I really liked about this movie was putting the stress onto the story, not the visuals, although I liked the scenery too.
So if you’d like to see a movie not like the others, something fresh and unique, watch Timecrimes.
Fastboot is a mode on your device that lets you access system files on your phone via USB. If you don’t have a fastboot rom, you won’t be able to access this mode because the original ROMs don’t include fastboot. However, you can easily get it.
